Peoria 09

Last weekend I went to Peoria, IL with some of the students at FSM.  It was a blast as we shared the gospel on the streets, did the prayer room during the nightwatch, and prophesied over some of the church members there.  I have one quick story of the prophecy room:

Me and two other FSM students were ready for the next two people to come and get “blessed” (prophesied) over.  Basically we introduce ourselves and share that 1 Cor. 14 says that prophecy is for the edification and encouragement of the body of Christ.  Then we wait on the Lord and share any bible verses or impressions we have over them.  So two older ladies come to get encouraged and I immediately think of faithfulness.  I felt like God was so proud of them for being faithful through all the years of living as a believer.  So I prayed that over both of them and one of them started to cry.  Just the simple words of, “God is proud of you for being so faithful and paving a way for the next generation to follow in your footsteps,” resonated in her heart and touched her.

After our time was done, they thanked us and she said to me, “It’s so amazing that you’re so wise at such a young age.”  This touched my own heart.  As they walked out of the room, one of the ladies bent down and touched one of the students on the cheek.  It was such a kind, but cute gesture.  We were all so blessed as we blessed and encouraged others.  (it is funny how that works).

Another highlight of my trip was getting reconnected with the power of prayer.  Before the trip I began getting struck by Rees Howells, who was an intercessor around the time of WWII.  And just seeing his prayers answered and move the heart of God, caused me to long for God to answer my prayers.  Thus, I began to pray for the city of Peoria in a renewed way, asking that God would release signs and wonders and revival upon the church.

Even after coming back from Peoria, I still continue to have an urgency in intercession.  And my time in the prayer room has been qualitatively good.  So I just wanted to leave a few pictures from our trip, so enjoy!
